Start reading the chart
Three points. A fuller picture.
Find your Sun, Moon and Rising from your birth details. Then choose a point below to understand what it adds to a reading.
In your chart
The Sun · your familiar sign
The part you recognize first.
In modern Western astrology, the Sun is read as a symbol of identity and creative drive. Its sign is the one in newspaper horoscopes. A fuller reading also looks at its house and its relationships with other planets.
Look for The Sun’s sign, house, and aspects in a calculated chart.
The Moon · inner life
What feels like home to you?
Astrologers often read the Moon as a symbol of emotional needs, instinct, and familiar responses. It moves through the zodiac more quickly than the Sun, so your Moon sign may be different from someone born only days apart.
Look for The Moon’s sign and house. Check the birth time if its sign may have changed that day.
The Ascendant · rising sign
The sky at the eastern horizon.
The Ascendant is the point of the zodiac rising in the east at the moment and place of birth. Astrologers use it when reading how a person meets the world. A guessed birth time can change this point, so it deserves care.
Look for A recorded birth time and birthplace before trusting a rising-sign result.
Three entry points into Western chart-reading. A fuller interpretation also reads houses and natal aspects. Interpretations still need specialist review. Read more at Astrodienst ↗
